About the event
As a self-taught chef, Philip has taken his experiences from London’s contemporary, restaurant scene and translated them onto the plate of traditional Iraqi dishes using modern cooking techniques and Michelin flair, while always staying true to dishes heritage. This unique approach has unquestionably set him aside from his peers and is arguably the only chef in London, promoting Iraqi cuisine in this way.
Juma Say: Originally, this dish was only going to be a one-off special but just seeing the response from that first Sunday, I knew I had to make DOLMA SUNDAYS a ritual. Dishes like this really encompass what being Iraqi is for me... and to see the reactions from people all over the world as I lift that dolma pot, and they devour...it means so much - it’s hard to put into words. Some dishes are meant solely for home and can’t be created outside of that setting, but we’ve managed to do it. 1 pot, 1 flip, 1pm @boroughmarket...DOLMA Sunday is another step of representing our beautiful traditions on the main stage and this 🎥 is a tribute to that 🇮🇶🥳 The theatre starts at 1pm every Sunday so don’t be late because the reveal is just as important as the eating!"
